Apparently, one skill a professional photographer must have is the ability to recreate something over time.
This is the case where I wanted to recreate something that worked well in my previous series 'underwater winter'.
If recreating an image is relatively common in professional 'surface' photography, when shooting underwater we have a few more variables that are a bit harder to tame.
So, hoping in similar conditions, I challenged myself going back to the same dive site at Garda lake with the goal of recreating the image look I felt so engaged with.
The greenish blueish water offers a range of hues that I particularly like when working on  a monochromatic color scheme. On Adobecolor you can see the color palette I used and how I lined up tones.
As we go deeper the natural light fades off and flash lights kick in the game of balancing exposure. They also balance the color scheme offering a bit of color contrast in warmer tones but still along the same color direction.
I worked on framing to give a sense of space around divers. I really like the bent gravity we enjoy underwater and how the rocky wall shows the divers suspended over the depth.
Shooting divers from above is a camera angle I like to explore.
During the dive there's time for the singles of the divers.
Back to the surface the lake offers a beautiful landscape finding me ready to catch the natural soft light for a surface portrait of buddy diver.
Thanks for watching.
