When I've been hired for this shooting I realized I would have had an hard time working on this location given my black background addiction. In facts I'm pretty used to work with back lights on my set but this time I knew I had no chance to go in that direction. Natural ambient light was too bright and beautiful to fight against it. So I decided to go with it accordingly with the briefing I've had with the client and agency. Problem was the subject-to-backgorund balance becoming critical. So I've tried to build some kind of contrast over that bright basement of the scene casting a considerable amount of light from overhead and from the sides. Super-directional soft light from my modifiers has played a big role in the light game. I'm happy with the outcome however. You can see more about the shooting on the behind the scene video here below.
